“The truth, really, is that Americans have already grown tired of the indecency. They have just begun tuning everything out. The decency comeback is teed up — we just need someone to grab the club and swing.”

So ends an essay by Tangle editor Isaac Saul, from April 3, 2026. The gist is (thanks AI): Just as Gen Z is returning to malls after too much screen time, Americans may be ready for a return to political decency after a decade of norm-breaking. Polling shows widespread exhaustion, and figures on both left and right are already pivoting toward kindness.

The full essay is for paid subscribers only, and they are not inclined to make it public. I can respect that, and encourage you to consider subscribing, for this and other generally balanced content. In any case, I found the essay optimistic and inspiring, and frankly exactly in line with what I’m trying to do with this campaign. I hope they are correct that simple decency is overdue for a comeback. If you believe I can and should be part of that, please get involved. Thank you.
